Welcome to today's podcast. We're going to talk about a day in the life of a profitable coach,
What it really looks like because I know you're all working to get there. So welcome to the podcast I'm gonna go through what you would be doing when you get there Why do I want to tell you what you would be doing because I want you to start working towards that now I want you to model your day today After what a successful coach would be doing So why does it matter because if you want to be a full time coach with paying clients?
You need to act like this right now. Success doesn't come from randomness. It comes from daily intentional actions. So the truth about a profitable coach's schedule. First of all, we're not sitting by the beach. we're not out, in a coffee shop doing business. We are sitting in our office and we're following our schedule I will tell you what a profitable coach does not do they don't spend all day making canva graphics Right, you have an established brand.
You don't overthink things you work within your brand You know what your brand style is and you just do it. You don't spend All that time working on the details. This is when I say, like, B minus work is good enough. If you have a brand, if you know your message, just get the stuff done and get on with it.
also, a profitable coach, do not spend your days scrolling on Instagram for inspiration. You have a list on your phone of inspiring ideas that you have gotten yourself. Because you have plenty of ideas, my friend. You just need to document them. So when you're in the shower and you have that idea, you just hop out of the shower, you type it on your notes app, or when you're on a walk, or when you're in bed, wherever that is, and you're asleep, you wake up with some inspiring idea in the morning, just jot it down.
Don't go looking anywhere else. We know that you have plenty of ideas. And then the third thing that a profitable coach does not do is wait for people to find them. What they do every single day is that they show up consistently. They show up not only to do their work, like regular business hours in their office because it is their career, right?
They're a coach with the company. This is their job. they show up confidently and consistently. They prioritize income generating activities. I can tell you that even from my own experience, I catch myself sometimes doing activities that are not income generating activities. And those are the kind of things where you're like, going to create something new. When you find yourself off schedule, that's when you want to ask yourself, wait a minute, what am I doing this for?
This is not actually part of my plan. So a profitable coach catches themselves in the act of wasting time and they course correct immediately. So prioritize income generating activities. Do you know what those are you guys? marketing, and connecting with people. The only path to clients is through marketing.
Also, profitable coaches manage their time, right? They do what they say they're gonna do according to their schedule, they set a schedule, and they follow it, and they stay committed to the results until they come. Even if you haven't gotten the result as planned, You don't change the goal, you just slightly change the timeline.
Okay, so here's the takeaway. *Being a profitable coach isn't about working more, it is about working smarter.* Alright, the second part to being a profitable coach is what are you going to focus your day on? And I'm going to share this in three separate parts. So let's break down the day. The first part would be the morning.
And that's when you're getting your day started. We know how you start your day. is the way that it's going to influence everything. Now, I'll tell you for me, my day actually starts the night before when I decide what I'm going to wear. Yeah, that matters to me, you guys, and I have talked to many people about that.
I think when you show up in your most Powerful outfit, and you know, hopefully that's your whole wardrobe. Hopefully you take the time to find things that you feel really good in, doesn't matter what your size is, even if you only have a few things, wear those things to work. Don't try to make the other things that you don't love just because you bought it or because you bought it on sale.
Don't wear those things to work. Wear the things, even if it's the same thing, week in and week out, wear those to work when you feel powerful. Take the time. to do whatever it is. You know me, I like to get all fixed up. Do your lips, do your nails, do whatever it is. Take that time to feel good about the way you look because that will set you up for success.
So again, I recommend that you do it the night before so you get up the next day. I have my morning planned. I know what's going to happen. If I'm working out that day, I decide. Recently I've been working on walking on my walking track one mile. Which is just a short walk before the day starts So I do that before I actually get dressed and get in the shower So *I am a business owner and I act like it.*
I start by thinking through my day Now I will tell you Mindset work this journaling and visualization and gratitude I have made that a very short process because I don't have time I mean, I guess we all have time. It's a matter of priority. So maybe it's a priority to you, but as a profitable coach, I don't have time to spend an hour or two in the morning.
And it could easily be that you guys. Journaling and thinking about, you know, the reality that I'm creating. I show up and in a few minutes time, I work through what I need to be thinking. I tap back into my goal, into my why. that's why I have the things on my desk. Y'all have heard me talk about my icon, you know, magazine cover.
I have my goals right in front of me. It's in a notebook that I'm looking at all day long. That way it keeps my mindset time short because I'm really in it all day long. Checking on your numbers. This is a really good thing to do. I'm at a point where I do it mostly once a week, but in the beginning, prove to yourself that what you're doing is working.
If you have anybody go to your website, any person, one person, that's progress. If you have anybody look at your social media posts, and I don't mean comment or like I'm talking about. Go to the insights and see, is your post being shown to anyone? That's a win. If you have any conversation with anyone, remember, social media is about being social, so if you have any engagement with anyone, track that.
Prove to yourself that what you're doing is working. If you are doing email marketing, it's like a click on an email. It's like an open on an email. You can do email marketing with two people on your list. You start right there. You don't wait till you have hundreds or thousands of people. Successful coaches do not wing it.
They start out the day and they have a plan. They have set up a schedule and everybody knows. You know, my family knows. Don't be texting me. Don't be calling me. Don't be asking me to come down and do something. They know that I run a business. It's a business that not only supports our household, it helps support all kinds of things in our life, including, you know, my grandkids and my kids and all that.
So, make sure that you have set the parameters and told people how serious you are about this. I did that, by the way, before I ever made a dollar in my business. I said, this is what I am going to do. I don't know how long it's going to take, but this is it. Everybody needs to basically clear out and give me the space to do this.
So you're the one that sets. the example like shows up and tells everybody else how it's going to be. Alright, the second part of every single day for a profitable coach is connecting and marketing. Remember, there's no clients without marketing. This is where clients come from. Daily marketing activities, there should be daily marketing activities unless you are planning it far in advance.
So what does that mean? Daily probably you're posting on social media unless you've got it scheduled and if you do, congratulations. I love that. But even if you have it scheduled, you need to go engage, right? And remember, I just said this, social media is social. Do not expect people to connect with you if you are connecting with anyone.
Do not expect that just because you posted, somebody's going to come, because it won't happen. You be there, engaging, looking for people, finding people with similar interests, going into Facebook groups, talking to people, I didn't say selling, go make friends. People you have common interests with. Go create relationships, grow your email list, every single day work on growing your email list.
Think of things you can offer for free, gather email addresses everywhere you go. You want to think about that visibility that we have. I talked about that exposure. Get yourself in front of people, like real people, not the people that are, you know, on social media that you can't actually see. I'm talking about people that you could actually see on Zoom.
Free coaching. You do free coaching until you have so many clients you can't do free coaching. And I'm not talking about repeated with the same person. I'm one coaching session per person, okay? Coffee chats. Get to know people. Coordinate with other coaches. Do not use it as an excuse to not be doing the marketing you need to, but Coordinate with other coaches, talk with other coaches, figure out how you can collaborate together, okay?
Even if you have 10 people and they have 10 people, that means together you have 20 people. Can you see the impact of that? Even in small numbers, a lot of people are like, you know what, I don't need to work with anybody else because I don't have anything to bring to the table. Yeah, if you have A hundred people on Instagram and they have a hundred people, now you guys have two hundred.
So, also get yourself in front of people by doing webinars, round table discussions, workshops, free trainings, education, whatever that might be. *Profitable coaches are visible every single day of their business. They do not hide and hope that a client finds them. They show up and they invite people to come.*
Alright, the third part that I want to talk about is coaching and serving clients. If you're a profitable coach, that means you have clients. And this is a big part of your day. Now, I'll tell you, I have my week planned to where my coaching days are together. Monday and Tuesday are very coaching focused days, which means I have Wednesday for the grandkids and then kind of Thursday and Friday for consultations, for planning, for writing emails, for working with my team, for connecting with people outside of my coaching session.
So you decide what your schedule is going to look like. Could be every day that you do coaching, but ultimately. Once you become a profitable coach with lots of clients, you want to have your calendar more organized. So one day is for consultations, one day is for coaching. So you want to focus on inviting people.
To sessions, you want to focus on how do I build testimonials? How do I build know, like, and trust? How do I build community? How do I create connection? So an established coach, they're going to work with clients, obviously privately, but most established coaches are going to be doing group coaching sessions.
They're also going to be checking in with their clients, even though we only check in in our Facebook community, which is where every coach can share all the things they're working on. We do reviews. We give feedback. They ask questions there. It's not just a fun Facebook group. It's really a place where you get all your feedback there.
I still have conversations via email, via text, you know, those kind of other things take time in your day. Also, I want to mention there is time to follow up with potential clients. You want to make sure that you've got time for that. Not just time for consultations, but time to nurture relationships with people maybe they didn't say no, but they didn't say yes either.
And so you just build connection when you see something like an article or a post that might be relevant to their niche, just forward it to them and shoot them a quick email. connect back with people. Look, you build relationships not just in one date, you know, you don't build a lifelong, committed partnership with somebody in one day.
You do it through courting them and dating them over time. It's the same way with clients. You also would be working every day on improving your business. That's that business expansion. For us, so much of our time in the Life Coach Business Building School is those foundations. Like you're getting systems set up.
You know, you're working on getting the email nurture series. You're working on that next email opt in to grow your list. You're getting, you know, your links set up on your calendar. You're doing those kind of things. So part of your day will always be set on that. Even as you grow. We just finished our brand new quiz.

So part of every day, even though I coach clients, I work on my marketing, I still am always working on the next thing.
So you're going to be working at the beginning stages on improving your offers, learning how to sell, working on what to sell. Say and how to say it better. I'm at a different level. So I'm working on, kind of what's next As far as list growing opportunities, as far as more advanced automation with emails.
So you're going to plan and prepare for future things that are coming. Serving clients is the reward that you have for all that you've done marketing wise. In fact, I would say, you know, it is definitely the icing on the cake, but it's not all that you're doing your business because you can't have clients unless you do these other things.
All right, the third part of my day. which I think really is a secret sauce to my whole day, is figuring out how to stay consistent. So what makes the difference? I've said this over and over. Why do I have success? Because I don't quit. Who are the people that win in this game?
The ones that don't quit. So how do you become somebody who doesn't quit and who stays consistent? Well, first of all, you create a plan, you trust your plan, and you don't quit. You don't quit if things are not working. You don't quit if you had a bad month or a bad two months or whatever that is. You don't quit.
You don't quit after a bad day or a bad week. You don't change your mind on what you are doing. If you have said this is gonna be my marketing strategy for the next 90 days, you don't change it halfway through, You follow something that is simple. Don't over complicate it at this point. Even profitable coaches.
We try our very best to keep it simple. Do repeatable things. You're going to get to a point in your business where you'll be able to do repeatable things.
*So, success isn't about doing everything. Success is about doing the right things consistently. *Alright, let's recap this. A profitable coach is not just someone who wants to be successful. You hold the power in your hands. You have to run your business like a CEO every single day. I talk with people about building your boutique style coaching business.
The only way that you get to enjoy your boutique lifestyle, which is a result of getting your business built, is by staying committed to your plan, it's by not quitting when things aren't working out, it's by following a schedule it's by doing the things that others will not do consistently.
So if you want to be profitable, start adopting those habits right now. Start showing up every day as if this is. Your hundred thousand dollar business whatever your goal is as if you've already achieved it ask yourself your future self How do I show up today and work and what is my schedule going to be?
