I'm so glad you're here. I hope you guys have listened to last week's episode. I did a year in review and today I'm going to talk about planning. So if you haven't listened to that, I actually went through all the nitty gritty. of what it took to grow my business this last year. And I know for myself it would have been helpful to hear from somebody about what the growing your business process really look like.

So I love to share all those details. Now let me talk about planning. We just actually held our planning session with our clients where we went through some of what I'm going to share today. But I'm going to give you an inside look at actually my own Kind of visioning for my business. Plus, I want to invite you to our word of the year workshop.

Now I know you've had a word of the year. Everybody does that, but I want to tell you our word of the year workshop. Which I've probably done for over 10 years is actually different than anything else that I have seen or anything that I've attended. So we're going to pick a word of the year, start thinking about it now, that actually supports all areas of your life.

And there's five areas of your life we're going to cover in the workshop. It's a lot of fun. So be thinking about your word of the year and then start Save your seat, debbieshadid.com/workshop so that I can join you there and we'll even discuss your word and I can talk about the pros and cons of maybe two or three words you're considering.

So let's talk about planning. I want to let you in on the first phase of my business planning that actually involved a visioning session that I did for myself. So a month ago. I spent a week thinking about who I was going to be in 2025 not just in my business, but as a person.

I love personal growth, self development. I'm all about that. And so I asked myself, who do I want to become? What do I want to be known for? How do I want to be seen? How do I want to be perceived? How do I want to run my business? So I'm going to go into the details of kind of what I went through. What I asked myself, what all that included.

I'll just tell you, if you're watching on YouTube, I actually have, this is in a notebook. My vision for myself is multiple pages, and I actually created, if y'all take another look, I wrote it out, I printed it out, it's in a book stand sitting on my desk, so that I'm looking at it every day. And I'm going to look at this and read a different page every day, all year long, so that I can really stay engaged and so that my vision for myself is really top of mind.

Alright, so first, I went into what I wanted. What is it that I actually wanted in 2025? And there's lots of areas that I covered in that. You might be thinking, well I want to make 100, 000, but that's not deep enough. I went deeper than that. So, what I wanted included my working schedule. What hours did I want to work?

What days did I want to work? Vacation time. This is one of the things that we do in the planning session. We actually look at your year and we plan the time off. What are the holidays that you're going to be off? What are the time blocks going to be? Now, maybe you won't be able to actually say, I'm going to be off, you know, spring break, and it's, you know, It's this week, but you actually intentionally block a week off in March and then that way it's like it's already blocked off.

You can tell your coaching clients I take a week off in March and you know, it's flexible depending on what vacation you actually plan or maybe staycation, right? You stay at home. So I planned my vacation. And then I thought about my home, and my office. What is it that I wanted to change? And for me, organization is top of the list.

Like my dream vision is to have somebody come in and organize every space in my whole house. I keep a clean house and everything's tidy, but y'all know, maybe not you. But for me, I have boxes of stuff that I have moved from place to place that are still boxes of stuff sitting there that I would love to just I feel like a real cleaning out of lots of areas of our house that we don't look at or that we haven't been into for months. So organization would be fun. There are some upgrades that I'd love to do. Sort of my vision, my dream for my house, and I literally made specifics like two new chairs in the living room, a new rug in the kitchen.

I mean, I listed it all out very specifically. Then I thought about how do I want to act in my business. Every day, how do I want to show up? How do I want to be seen? You know, style is important to me. And I don't necessarily mean clothes style, but just, you know, How I show up in my business. I teach about building a boutique style business concept.

That is your boutique lifestyle and your boutique style business. And so I have to show up in a way that is in integrity with what I'm teaching. And I'm always evolving to that. You guys, if you have listened to my year in review, one of the things that I didn't do was maintain my own, uh, promise to myself about staying in shape.

So, that thing moved up to 2025 on the top of my goal list. Which, by the way, you don't wait until 2025 to start your goal. If your goal for 2025, you know, is January 1st, you just move it to today. You know, I looked at my year in review and after doing it, I was like, Alright, I'm done with my projects. My fitness thing, It didn't need to be moved up till January 1st.

It got moved up to the next day. So I've already started really immersing myself back in the weight lifting part, which is the part that I had fallen off of. So style is important to me. And then really enjoying my life and enjoying my business. You can approach your business either being stressed out and overwhelmed, or you can decide to enjoy your business.

It's really up to you. There are things that are hard, but we make them harder because we torture ourselves by saying it's hard. We make it harder by saying, I don't know. I'm so confused. I don't know how to decide what is right. I'm in the same boat as you guys. I think those things too. It's just that I can catch it and I coach myself to move on from those things faster.

So, in my business, I want to enjoy it. I don't want it to be stressful. That's an intentional decision. I want to have joy in my life. What does joy look like for you? Joy is like this deep sense of peace and satisfaction. Like going to bed at night knowing that you did good. Me keeping my word to you and to everybody.

Me having an integrity in what I do. Not over promising. To clients and I'm going to get you somewhere that I can't really being helpful and of good service, being kind to people, being honest. Honesty. Oh my goodness. Honesty is a big value of mine. I don't want to sugarcoat things with you. If, if you hire me, I want to be able to tell you.

So I thought about how do I want to act in my business? A lot of these things are ways that I live my, you know, I live my life every day. So they're not new ways of being, it's just that I rewrote it out in the 2025 vision. Of course, it also includes spending time with family, with my husband, spending time with the kids, you know, my daughter and son in law.

All those things are super important to me. I even wrote down how I wanted my weekends to look. So you guys know I go to church, and one of the things that I've always thought of for years, and particularly after the grandkids came along, is that I want Sunday to be like family day.

That's like my future vision, is Sunday is like family dinner, which we do that quite a bit, but family dinner And really a day of relaxing where the kids are here. Everybody's kind of kicked back. Nobody's working hard. Like dinner is ready ahead of time. Everybody can just relax and enjoy themselves together.

So that would be an example of what is on my vision for my weekends. By the way, it also includes social time. my schedule also includes social times with friends, including happy hour. So, you know, I go from one to the other. Anyway, business specifics was another part of my vision and I had to ask myself, who do I want to be in my business?

How do I want to show up in my business to my team? And I want you right now to remember, you're not at the same level I am. You don't have a team. So we're saying, how do you want to show up in your business for yourself and for your clients? The only thing that's different about mine is that I have people that work with me.

So, and by the way, it's not been that long that I've had a big team like this. So, figure out how you want to show up. How do you want to serve your clients? For me, I want to serve you guys at a higher level than I've ever served you before. This has always been one of my things to create a boutique style coaching experience for you guys.

To really over deliver, that's an important piece to me. You know, I need to think about how I want you to perceive me. We're actually in charge of our own reputation. I teach that in branding. I teach you guys how to design your reputation from your future successful self. How are you going to be seen? So I'm intentionally deciding as I grow my business, how am I going to be seen in my business in 2025?

When I coach, what is it that I want people to say about me? You actually decide on your reputation before you have one. I want to decide in advance what I want my testimonials to say. When you decide those things, what the clients are going to give you as feedback ahead of time, then you show up in a way of serving your clients that actually creates that result for you.

Then I thought about my day to day. My future successful self, what would it be? So I actually scripted out. What I imagined every day to look like and I typed it all out I mean it this this whole project of me creating a vision for myself Involved lots of thinking lots of typing. It was I don't know like nine or ten pages of typing Once I did all of that and I detailed out what my future successful self would do day to day.

Then I went to our friend ChatGPT. I took that whole entire thing and I put it in ChatGPT and I said organize my life based on what I have just given you. And so it went through and it figured out what I would be doing in my business because I even went all the way down to what my marketing 2025 would be.

how I would be coaching, like what my coaching offers would be. So it took all of that information and it detailed it and it broke it up into categories. That's actually how I created this big document and it split it up and it even gave me, here's your marketing plan based on what I told it. Here's your coaching offers based on what I told it.

Here's what your, You know, day to day life looks like. Here's what your personal goals are, your business goals are. Once I had that all created together, then I said to Chat2PT, how do I increase my impact? And what do I need to do to increase my impact? One of the interesting things that came back is it immediately said I needed to simplify my life and my business. I don't know. That's probably something all of us need to do. We love to overcomplicate things. So the way to increase my impact is to simplify what I'm doing. Who knew? Right? Simple business.

That's one of the core principles. It's actually one of the values that I have inside of our program for myself, for our team. One of the values of our company is to simplify things for our clients, teach them in simple ways. And I need to simplify my business. Then I later asked chat to APT, what am I not thinking about that I should consider when it comes to number one, growing my business?

So I'm not going to share those things. It's not a secret, but they are, things that don't apply to you at this business stage. But it would be interesting for you to ask, you know, if you did this same project to ask chat JPT, what am I not thinking about doing that I should be doing to grow my business?

Remember, you have to have audience growth every single day. early stages of their business, they spend a lot of time planning their coaching programs. They plan their offers, they think of the names, they get everything clever. They're writing their program.

That time really is not spent well because where you should be spending the majority of your time is on building your audience. The kind of planning your offer, that comes later you guys. So I would make sure that you look at your business and decide that three quarters of your time is going to be spent on marketing and audience build because that is always the problem.

Always the problem is you don't have enough people at the top. And if you have a thousand people at the top that are on your list, let's say. it's going to get down to maybe half those people might open your emails, which by the way if that was half That'd be really good then it's going to be like a fraction of those people are going to have a consultation call with you Then a fraction of those people are you going to convert into clients so you can see that the emphasis needs to be on Growing your audience growing your list growing your email Growing your those kind of places where you have growth and growth with more exposure to people.

Ultimately chat GPT told me the things that I should be thinking about that I wasn't considering. It also told me the things I should look out for the negative things that could happen as a result of me doing what I thought, which I loved that.

Like what are the problems that I could face if, so Today, the coaching schedule that I have, and I'm still working on this plan for 2025, ultimately is going to include content creation, building my audience, my coaching, and the one thing that I missed adding to my schedule when I planned it was consultation time.

Last year, as I did my year in review for 2024, in the first half of the year, I had so many consultation calls. I didn't actually have enough hours for it. So that's an important piece that I missed and y'all, that's something probably you're not thinking of too is you have your coaching hours, you have your marketing hours, but You also have to have time to have consultations. For you at your level of business, you might be needing time to have free coaching calls. So that is an interesting look at a way to start planning. That's the vision process. I'll tell you quickly, once you have the vision, then you can transfer it to a calendar.

I typically use a big wall calendar that's a dry erase calendar where I write in exactly what I'm going to do. Every month, every quarter, I talk about, you know, when new programs are going to come out. I think about the seasons that will impact my business because you have to market around every season.

So right now, as you're listening to this, if you come and work with us right now, You're going to get an entire extra month of coaching for free. Does not matter what level you join us at, you get an entire extra month. So seven months for the six month. Why do I do that? Because I know what's going to happen in this season.

People are going to say, well, it's the holidays. I don't want to start until January 1st. so I sweeten the deal by giving you an entire extra month. What does that create for me? Typically December is my biggest month of the whole year. So you want to be thinking about in the whole year, where are the times that I need to make marketing promotions or create opportunities for business enrollment of new clients when there are things that come up in the season that might be summer vacation that might be I don't know, depending on your niche, there's going to be different things.

It is very niche specific to the offers that you want to make. So you take your schedule, look at it for the full year, then you want to literally start putting it on the calendar. After I've done the big wall calendar, then I move to a desktop calendar. I start writing it out. Now, maybe you're just a computer person and you're going to put it on a document right away.

I like to actually look at it and change it. I also use a lot of post it notes because when you write things on a post it note, you can stick it on the calendar and then you can move it depending on how you start making adjustments. So that's an overview of my general planning. I'm also documenting this so you guys can see it.

If you head over to Instagram and follow me there, you'll get a full look at how I have done my planning for 2025. I hope this was helpful to you.
