Welcome. Welcome. I'm so glad that you guys are here. I want to introduce you to a special guest, our client Roz, who is going to tell you first about who she coaches. Roz, can you introduce yourself?
Well, great day, everybody. My name is again, Rosalyn Luck. I am a master.
Life and mindset transformation coaching has been a whirlwind. I focus mainly on women survivors of domestic violence. Just helping them feel empowered and get back to that strong, beautiful self that they used to know before they went through those experiences. It's been an amazing journey thus far.
Wow. Oh my gosh. Such an amazing niche. I love it. so tell me about what brought you and I together. What's the story of you connecting with me?
I love this story. As a matter of fact, I followed you for about a year, just lurking in the background, just watching the master classes. And I was drawn to you just your personality, but I didn't know if I was quite ready to do what you were offering.
I do work a full time job, so it was like, I just don't have time. I don't have this. I don't have that. It was not I wasn't focused on what I did have. I was focused on what I didn't have and that was time and, uh, over the course of that year, I did learn a lot from you, but it was 1 night and I remember clearly it was in September and I, I was sitting on my couch.
And an email popped in and you just said, hey, and you said, this is what I'm offering and you talked about the elite coaching that you were starting. And I said, that's exactly what I need to do. And so you said, are you ready? I think that's what the, what it said. And I said, yes, I just emailed you back and said, yes.
And then that started this journey, which I'm super grateful for. It has been amazing.
Well, okay. I want to pause for a moment and say to everybody listening, first of all, excuse my voice, cause I have a little bit of a cold again, but did you hear Roz say that she lurked around for a year? Really note that and remember that because as coaches, especially in the beginning, like we're like, we talked to somebody, we thought they were going to be a client.
And they're not and a year goes by and so Ross said she watched some of my workshops and kind of hung around and got value, which is another thing, like, got lots of free value, which is another clue to you guys that that is good to give that value. And sometimes the journey for a client, like, for example, maybe I talked to Ross on a master class, potentially, and maybe I thought, you know, You know, a year ago.
Oh, my gosh, she's going to be a client today and maybe she wasn't and that happens a lot. You know, I think, oh, she's going to sign and they don't. But it's when the time is right. So, like you said, I made the right offer at the right time. And that's how you became a client. So what had you done before working with me, Roz, if you don't mind sharing a little bit, because I think people come and they're like, I've already done all these other things.
I can't do one more thing.
And that was true for me. I had some, lower income, um, cost, coaches. that gave me bits and pieces. and I really wasn't getting what I needed because I said I work a nine to five and it's very demanding. and then I paid, right at 6, 000 for a coach. And I didn't get much out of that either.
It was a lot of conversation, a lot of telling me what to do, but no showing me how to do it or pointing me in the right direction. And so I have spent tons of money, trying to get where you took me. I think we've been together for two months, three going into my third month and you've already given me.
Well, worth tons more than you've charged and I'm super appreciative, but it's the time that it took me to get to you that initially I felt was wasted time, but I know now that it took those baby steps to get to where I am with you so that I appreciate what you're offering and what you've given to me so far.
Well, thank you for that. I think when we got on the call, we had a consultation call. You were like, look, I either need to make this work or I just need to quit. It's one or the other. You know, it's like come to decision time. And that's, you know, that's not a bad place to be because it does sort of like you had to recommit.
Yeah. Okay. I'm going to do it. Yeah, I'm going to do it. So for those of you who don't know, our Elite offer is new Ross works full time. And so it includes some private coaching with me. It also includes access to our VIP and to our mindset coach, but it also included us doing her branding, which she already had a brand.
But we worked on it. Anyway, we did branding. I wrote her marketing message. We did a niche clarity session. we set up our website. So basically, it was like getting your business all set up and ready for you to go now. So you don't have to worry about that part.
But if I may, Debbie, even though you guys did the work, it was refreshing that I was included every step of the way.
team really touched base with me. What do you think about this? How is this, is this okay? So it's still mine. It's not something somebody did for me. Then I didn't have any, I didn't have any skin in the game. So that's what's appreciated about it. A lot of times when you pay for a website to be done, you get the finished product and then you.
You either like it, or you don't or you say, well, I don't like this and then it takes forever for you to get it back. But it was not that way, or it is not that way with you and your team. And I think that's what what the drawing card is for me also is that I get to be a part, even though.
I'm working full time, and even though I've got all these other things happening, and the life is still happening for the business, and I still get to be a part of the journey, and outs, the beginnings of it. So that's what also. Is that is a big drawing card for me?
It's like, I feel like a part of the team.
I had not had anybody explain that. Thank you for sharing that. I was telling one of our team members just right before I got on with you that my job and our job as a team is to teach you guys how to have coaching companies where you also serve your clients at a high level.
And we have to model what that looks like. For you to do the same for your clients. So, your clients need to be included in every part of the process, as well too. So beautiful. I'm going to back up. Let's talk about your niche.
Let's talk about the conversation before we talk about everything else that's happened. Let's talk about that. Niche discussion that we had. When you came to me, who did you want to coach?
Everybody. I had a problem. Anybody that had any type of trauma or, anything bad had happened in their lives. I just wanted to help everybody and Debbie say, wait a minute, you you got to narrow it down a bit.
And then I was fearful because I feared that I'm not going to have enough traffic. If I just do 1 thing, what if I can't find those people? What if those people can't find me? but once. we had our session and we nailed it down to this thing that I do with, with helping female survivors. I know exactly what to say to them because, I am a survivor of domestic violence.
So I know exactly how I was coached and how I went through therapy and what that looked like. And so I, I get it now. I get why it's important to have a focal point. a point of direction, so that you're not always fumbling. How am I going to help this person? Or it also helped me too, because in order to help many different, you have to have many different.
So, with a niche for me now, understanding. I know that this strategy with a couple of tweaks will help you to. Because your situation may be a little different.
Yeah. And while we were working on your niche, I remember that I googled how many people have been survivors to domestic violence.
And I'm sure, you know, that number, but I'm like, okay, here's the deal. We're not leaving anyone out. There's millions of people we're including. And for those of you guys listening, Google has a stat on everything. Whatever your niche is that you're wondering about, go Google it and see that there are plenty of people that you can be talking to.
And in your case, unfortunately, which wasn't at Ross, it was over like more than 50 percent of the people because domestic violence is not just hitting. Right, it's it's emotional. It's all the I don't know. It shows up in many different ways. And you've even said, like, a child of somebody who has.
You know, in a family where there's been domestic violence,
and I reach out to all of those family members that have been in close proximity while it was happening, have very traumatic experiences, just dealing with that or seeing a mom or auntie go through that. so yes, it, even though the niche is for survivors of domestic violence, it's not actually for the person that it was directed towards.
It's for the survivor that was in that family, that six year old boy or that, you know, 10 year old girl. It's, it's for all of them. And I say female, but my door is always open to both female and male, because there are males as well. It's a, it's a lower number, but that's because a lot of them don't report.
It has been very eye opening and it's a lot of work, even when you nail it down. So just imagine trying to service. 50M people versus 10M people. it's a lot of work with just 1 wish. So I couldn't imagine you just allowing me to damage my whole mind. And trying to service everybody.
So the question that I asked you before I talked about Niche was, what has shifted for you since we started working together?
Everything. just like you said in the beginning, I was at a point where I just wanted to quit. I, I said, maybe I'm not supposed to do this. I'm a, I'm a Jesus girl.
So I'm, I'm God led. And maybe I didn't hear that. Maybe this, maybe all of that's going through my head and I'm sitting there literally on my couch, just thinking, what am I going to do next? Because my 9 to 5 is very, very demanding, very taxing and I want out, but I made good money. So, right now, that's what's supporting my family and our lifestyle and I want to keep that.
So, I was at the point of giving up just quitting and then your email and then here I am fired up again. clients that I'm working with right now just feeling. Absolutely amazing about the process again. my husband is 100 percent in my corner, my biggest supporter, which he's always been. But, you know, I know he gets a little tired and he's saying, yeah, I'm going to do this.
No, I'm not going to do it. Yeah, I'm going to do this. But he hasn't heard the no, I'm not going to do it since I met you because. I now have a program or a process or a strategy that has kept me on track. And so I see gains every day. so what's shifted is the fact that I met you and the fact that you incorporated me into your family, the team that you have put together, and you have as much skin in the game of my business as I do.
And that's well appreciated definitely necessary for me.
After we get done with our marketing session, you immediately talked to somebody and it was like instantly you had a connection of somebody who wanted to work with you. I would say, I don't want to say for you, but I think it's because you understood how to talk to the person about you know, your niche now you knew how to talk to that person.
Yeah. And at that point, I hadn't put anything together. I had nothing on paper. but when she called, it was like, out of the blue. I wasn't even, I wasn't even expecting it because I had just started talking about it. I had just. I think I did my 1st Facebook live after, because you said, who are you talking to?
What are you doing? And I was like, nobody. I'm not telling anybody anything. And then, I did my 1st live and then I got the phone call. And it was like, immediately after hearing her story, I introduced myself, hearing her story. I knew exactly. Where she was number one, and how to help her, not to move forward in any direction, but just stand still and listen for just a second to hear that she wasn't alone.
So it was, it was an automatic light switch that came on because, as I said, I had no script, I had nothing in place to say, Hey, I'm ready for my first client right this minute. And, that was refreshing that I didn't have to say. Hold on. I haven't put anything together yet. I don't know how to help this person or what am I supposed to say?
And it was, I can't say it enough that it was, it felt to me like I met you at the exact right time that I was supposed to meet you in order to help her. That makes sense.
Oh, my gosh. Beautiful. So, you know, everything that we do really is marketing. I mean, you don't have any clients without marketing.
Everybody's heard me talk about marketing the ATMs, your business. So how would you say that compared to Ross 90 days ago or less than 90 days ago? How are you now prepared? Even if you're not doing all the marketing things, how are you prepared to be marketing differently than you were before?
I know what to say.
Number one, I know who I am and I know who I service and I know what I have to offer that demographic of people. marketing is probably the hardest thing that I have encountered thus far. Number one, I'm super introverted. And it feels to me like it's. like heavy on my stomach when I know that I have to go live.
but it has also, giving me a lot more confidence in what I have to say. And knowing after I go live, I get so many people calling and asking questions. Whether they become a coach or not. I, I always say I'm super excited about helping people, but I still have to eat. so people have questions and then I direct them to the, website for more information, to see if that, I'm, for them.
So I'm prepared in a way that your team has taught me. To, just do it, just speak up and do it and nothing is going to be perfect every time or right after that. but you still have to keep doing, you have to market whether I like it or not.
your niche is no different than anyone else's.
It's like. You're going to be talking to somebody who might not need you today, or who might not have a friend that they know needs you today. But, It's like plant to seed And let God take over it to use what you would be doing. Right? Got to plant the seeds and wait for the harvest. so how will you be supporting clients or how do you support clients? Kind of what does that look like if somebody is listening and they need some support? What is your process for supporting clients?
Well, we first have a consultation. I need to see where you are in the process. And what do you actually need from me?
a lot of brokenness, looks different in a lot of different people. So I offer, a three month program where we just have conversations once a week and we talk through what's our next steps. And there are activities and things that that take place during that timeframe. And then I also have a 6 month program where we, start with gratitude.
I like to start with gratitude because if you know the 1st word in that niche is survivors. So we're grateful that we survived it, or we are surviving it. so then we go to prayer because once we're grateful, we know what we're grateful for. Now we know what to pray for because we know where we lack and then we go into healing from the healing process.
It's just getting all the junk out, getting to the root of the problem and clearing out some things. It's really hard for people to talk about these. So as we travel through the first two steps, we're learning how to accept what has happened to us, understand it, and then move forward. And then we talk about, we talk through reflection.
Because we're going to laugh at this at some point, not because it's funny, but because haha, we made it. And we're doing it and we're empowered and we're back on our feet. And we did it through a step by step process of finding ourselves and empowering ourselves and being the great big one in, just the superhuman woman that God has put this us women on this planet to be, and we're going to stand in it.
Oh my gosh, that's so, so beautiful. So I'm curious, why was Coaching, you said you'd done therapy and all that, but how do you feel like coaching really change things for you versus therapy? Not that therapy is not an answer also, but I'm curious on that.
My therapist is great, very, very, very, very good therapist.
However, there's a step by step process that she does, and there's no interaction. Beyond that, it's just this hour is what you get. And this is what we're going to talk about. And I'm doing most of the talking, so I don't, there's no touchy feeling as a coach. I got to know her, I know who she is, and she knows who I am.
And she walks with me through the processes of things and she's a she's accessible. Now I don't call her 24 seven, but she's accessible if I have a question I shoot her a text message or an email, I get an answer versus my therapist. I'm most often going to have to wait till my next session that have that that connection with my therapist like I do with my coach and my coach checks on me.
just do like a drive by checkup. Hey, girl, haven't heard from you. Are you okay? What's going on? What are your needs? What are your opportunities? What have you run into this week? And it's just maybe a 5 minute conversation or a couple of quick texts or an email. And we're back at it, that to me feels like accountability.
Um, and actually, like I said about you have having skin in the game. With the person, the client that you're servicing.
So that's what you've modeled your coaching after is providing that level of, um, I'm there for you. I'm going to check on you. I'm going to make sure you're okay. And, you know, cause like your thing is volatile.
There's who knows, it's not like they can wait until next Wednesday for their therapy session. If something goes awry. Yeah. Right.
And that's the biggest part. Um, the only thing that I would offer to anyone who's listening is don't say you still have to set boundaries. Even though you do have that open door policy, you still have to set boundaries.
because people will definitely take advantage. if we have a couple of seconds, I'd like to say that I, had a, a young lady that found me, in on Facebook and she called and I talked to her and then she called back and I talked to her and she just kept calling, she kept calling and this was all day and night until finally I had to block her because I knew that there was a mental issue involved.
I didn't know her family. She was far away from me, so I didn't have any connects to get her connected to, but you still have to set boundaries and you have to be willing to understand when this person is not for me, this is not my connect.
good point. And this is why I recommend that you don't actually use your own personal cell phone, that you use a free Google number, or maybe once they become a client, use something like Voxer or some, something to where you don't actually have to answer the phone.
It's not going to be dinging on your personal phone, especially for you. You go to work. It's like, you can't have those messages coming through and disrupting what you're trying to do at your full time career. So, I want to touch on career for just a moment. We're going to wrap this up for those of you who are listening and you're like, I want to leave my job immediately.
you know, I told Roz. Right away. The job is such a beautiful thing to have while you build your business. It's not what you want. And it is a lot of work to build a business, whether you work full time or not. But it provides the security. so you don't have to worry about like panic mode. How am I going to make this work?
So I'm so glad that you have that career and that you're building the business while you can. so much. I know that doesn't happen as fast as you want to, but one step at a time for sure. So
that's for sure. Well,
I know that you have a client appointment here in just a few So would you mind sharing anything else about you?
How people can get ahold of you? And then anything else you want to share about working with us would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, absolutely. I am for you if you're thinking about it, working with Debbie. Debbie and her team are 100 percent committed to making you be successful. I have, started in September, September 21st to be exact.
And in that short span of time, I have had my website built, had traffic to the website, had calls from the website, working with 3 clients due to that. And it has been an amazing, I want to say whirlwind, but it just keeps spinning and it's always something good that comes out of it. you can reach me, through my website on www.
rosalynluck. com. That's R O Z L A N L U C K. and I would be more than happy to have a 30 minute conversation with you just to see if we have fit. Do we work together? Well, and I'm sure we will. give me a call if you need or if you know, someone knows. And Debbie, I definitely appreciate this platform.
I appreciate everything that you do. Keep going strong. Lady, you're helping a lot of people and we appreciate you.
Oh, my gosh. Thank you so much. I want to tell you guys go to our website and sign up she has a gift for you. And it is an audio. Oh, wait, is it video to just audio? Okay. Video. we were on the borderline of is it going to be audio or just video, which I watched the video.
It's beautiful. But Roz talks to you. If you are somebody who's in a messy situation, this chokes me up. She talks to you and it's the most sweet, angelic voice, Roz. It feels like you're getting hugged when you listen to that audio or video. Watch the video that you have. As a gift for people who get involved in your world, who sign up to, continue to stay in contact with you.
So beautiful, beautiful job you've done on everything. It is my honor to be your coach. Thank you for the work you do. What an incredible blessing you are to, to me and to so many other people. So have an amazing day, you guys. Thank you.
